BACK COVER:
“Messin’ with me’s like wearin’ cheese underwear down rat alley.” –Ollie Chandler

Homicide detective Ollie Chandler has seen it all. Done more than he cares to admit. But when he’s called to investigate the murder of a Portland State University professor, he finds himself going places he’s never gone before. Because all the evidence is pointing to one horrific conclusion: The murderer is someone in his own department. That’s not the worst of it, though. Ollie has nagging doubts…about himself. Where was he during the time of the murder?

Joined by journalist Clarence Abernathy and their friend Jake Woods, Ollie pushes the investigation forward. Soon all three are drawn deep into corruption and political tensions that threaten to destroy them—and anyone who tries to help. But they’re in too deep to quit. They’ve got no choice. They have to follow the evidence to the truth no matter how ugly—or dangerous—it gets.

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS:
Reading Randy Alcorn’s Deception is like taking a suspense-filled journey. You aren’t sure where you’re going to end up and as you turn the last page you wish you could keep on going because the travel is bound to be easier here on in. When Ollie says, “Things are often not what they appear.” You know he’s on track.

Because my husband is an Arizona Ranger, I kept asking him questions about firearms, fake fingerprints, head injuries, and whether you can you taste knock-out-drops in your drink. Each time Alcorn was right on.

Alcorn’s Ollie Chandler is witty, tough, smart and often sarcastic—a perfect combination for a homicide detective. He has some friends that have their job cut out for them if they are going to get Ollie to accept their message. Ollie’s spiritual struggle isn’t over yet.

I highly recommend Randy Alcorn’s Deception. Men will read it and women won’t mind having it sitting the coffee table.

Chuck Norris liked it. So did I.
