BACK COVER:

Colorado Territory 1870

Annabelle Grayson has been given a second chance at life, but she can’t claim it with the cloud of her past hanging over her in Willow Springs. After her husband dies, she advertises for a trail guide to accompany her to land waiting for her in Idaho—and a most unlikely candidate applies for the job.

Matthew Taylor is a man on the run, with consequences of the past mistakes pursuing him at every turn. Meeting Annabelle Grayson the first time was unpleasant enough, but when she crosses his path again, her presence in his life—and what she reveals—is devastating. If given a single wish, Matthew would turn back time and right a grievous wrong. If given a second wish, he would make Annabelle Grayson pay.

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS:

Revealed begins with the death of Annabelle’s husband, the man who freed her from the local brothel. Jonathan somehow saw the potential in her when no one else did. He paid a steep price for the woman he loved, and even Annabelle couldn’t understand why. Before he draws his last breath he tells her, “A person can’t love someone else until they’ve learned to love themselves first…You have the seed to love inside you, Annie. It just needs some time to take root, is all.”

Annabelle soon learns that Jonathan is right, except her love is spreading its roots in the most unusual place—in the person that despises her the most. Matthew is a man that can’t see the beam in his own eye for all his annoyance at the speck in Annabelle’s. Yes, he might have grudgingly agreed to escort her across 800 rugged miles, but he certainly isn’t going to be civil. Rough weather and swollen rivers aside, it’s one challenge after another for these two as they’re forced to communicate and work together.

I felt the book dragged a bit as I waited for them to finally begin their trip to Idaho, but that aside, I really enjoyed it. Keeping up with Annabelle’s and Matthew’s cuts and insults was a blast. Later, their physical attraction is such a contrast to their previous relationship that it’s exciting and new up to the very end.

Hurrah! for book two in the Fountain Creek Chronicles.
