The voice that whispered sounded neither like a man nor a woman. It was seductive, in a way that was both irresistible and deadly.
Was she dead?
No, couldn’t be, for she was walking. Not walking, really, but being moved. Upright, as if on some belt made of air. Weightless.
And powerless. Powerless to stop her thrust forward into deeper darkness. Powerless to resist the force---it was a force, she knew that now---drawing her.

Excerpt from Dead Lock

After reading Dead Lock I would gladly pick up any other book by James Scott Bell and read it. Dead Lock is a story about the judicial and political systems, and how Satan likes to use his evil to infiltrate the heart of American law. While there were several stories of internal battles among the characters, the author did a wonderful job of keeping the plot on track. I eagerly turned page after page, finding more twists and turns.

An Atheistic judge, a dirty politician, a praying mother, and a humbled minister are just some of the personalities you will meet along this reading journey.

Justice Millicent Hollander faces a personal tragedy and is left in the hospital. Here she comes to grips with her eternal future, without God. At the same time, across the country a mother says prayers for her spiritually lost daughter. In another home, a young lawyer desperately prays to God for her chance to make a change to a case against abortion, and finally, not far from Millie’s hospital room, an evil politician plots to destroy anyone or anything that doesn’t agree with pro-life.

I promise this book is a great read, and you will not be disappointed. My thanks to James Scott Bell for a very entertaining reading experience.
