Sanctuary
By Molly Noble Bull

BACK COVER:

By 1740, hatred and persecution that so blackened France in an earlier era has almost vanished from the land. When Rachel Levin’s fiancée and parents are murdered by a vicious French army captain, Rachel fears for her life. She flees her village with a young Huguenot, Pierre Dupre, and the two take refuge in a church. Dressed as a nun and a monk, all goes well until the captain who killed Rachel’s loved ones arrives…

Will Rachel and Pierre reach Scotland in time? Or will the captain make good on his threat to end their lives on an English countryside?

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS:

In 1740 France, Huguenots are not a welcomed lot. One of them, Pierre Dupre is running for his life. Scotland is his ultimate goal, but will he make it there before he’s caught and killed for his beliefs?

Rachel, his bride of convenience and along for the race of their lives, has her own secrets and she’s not sharing.

Captain Vallae finds Rachel irresistible and will have her for himself no matter the cost. Until, that is, he’s made privy to her heritage. Now, he simply wants her dead.

Theirs is a perilous journey across French soil, through the choppy English Channel, and north through wintry Britain. But Rachel and Pierre, one in mourning and the other in love, slip through Vallae’s grasp time and again, learning to depend on each other and the Lord through each trial.

Sanctuary is a wonderful resource of French religious history and delivers a greater appreciation for the sacrifices our forefathers made because of their faith.

In Sanctuary, you will find a humble love story, an adventure, a history lesson, and a simple account of faith all rolled into one. Those who lean towards Christian historical fiction will find enjoyment in Sanctuary.

I look forward to the next in the Faith of Our Fathers Series. With this first installment, Ms. Bull has outdone herself.
