Petticoat Ranch
By Mary Connealy

BACK COVER:

Sophie Edwards is doing just fine alone in the bleak wilderness of Texas. Still, God hears the cries for help that she is too busy to voice. One night a strange - yet oddly familiar - man rides into her life and insists on rescuing her and her four daughters. Can she find a way to love a headstrong mountain man?

When Clay McClellan discovers his brother has been murdered, he's bent on finding the killers and seeing them properly hanged. But first, he believes, Christian duty demands he marry his sister-in-law. After all, Sophie needs someone to protect her...right?

Judd Mason is determined to get his hands on the Edwards ranch. But that widow-woman has gone and gotten herself a new man to protect her. What will it take to get Sophie Edwards out of his way for good?

Can Sophie and Clay - the mismatched newlyweds - work together to protect their land and find love on the Texas frontier?

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS:

I must admit to a personal sense of joy when I learned that Mary's debut book would be coming out in print. Then, when I held the book in my hands, I was rewarded to find that Petticoat Ranch had the same sense of humor, love-for-life, and style that I have come to expect from Mary.

Sophie and Clay, along with Sophie's four daughters, immediately took residence in my heart. Clay hasn't been around women very much, but he figures that shouldn't be much of a problem.... He couldn't be more wrong. Sophie and the girls, well...they have become accustomed to taking care of themselves. They're in for a bit of a surprise when they learn that Clay has decided to marry their ma and move in.

Added to this mix are the men who hung Cliff. They want the ranch and don't mind killing a woman in order to get it.

This book warmed my spirit like a soft blanket. Petticoat Ranch is simply a story that makes you feel good.
