By Carol Umberger

Circle of Honor will take the reader back to the time of the Scottish-English wars …when a man’s word was all he had and worth fighting for. The story follows Gwenyth through the violent years of Robert the Bruce as she hides the truth of who she is during a time when women were considered property of the men who claimed them. Lies woven into the truth preserve her life but betray her conscience.

She is saved by Adam, a gallant man full of integrity to the point of denying his heart. Through the emotional defenses they each have erected for survival they slowly recognize God’s hand in their crossed paths and His faithfulness to their hearts. Adam learns to allow and release himself to love again as Gwenyth emerges from hiding and begins to trust man and God.

“Pray on it? ‘God doesn’t hear my prayers anymore.’ If Adam knew the truth about her, he wouldn’t ask this. How much longer could she live the lies? And did she want to?”

Circle of Honor is written with some of the characters using wording from the time period. This aids in transporting the reader back to the time of highland wars – one can almost feel the mist and chill in the air over Scotland. Chivalry is brought to life with each scene bringing the reader one step closer to the main character, Adam Macintosh.

This book is easy to be caught up in and swept away by the notions of honor, integrity, commitment, love, and virtue – all the things we truly long for in a relationship. Circle of Honor is a treasure to share with others!
