BACK COVER

Bobbie Bradford wasn’t the prettiest girl in town, but Jeff Taylor had no right to hurt her.

For five years Jeff had wanted to apologize to Bobbie in person. But she had left town the day after the humiliating episode at the picnic and never returned. Jeff was older now. He had grown in his faith and as a man. Still, the news that Bobbie was returning to Santa Rosa while considering Cleve Ramsey’s proposal of marriage came as a shock.

Can friendship be restored after heartbreaking betrayal? Can love grow…As Time Goes By. Book 2 of “The Californians.”

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS:

Book 3 of Lori Wick’s, “The Californians,” As Time Goes By is set in 1871. You’ll get better acquainted with Jeff’s family, the Taylor’s. You’ll get a chance to visit with Marshall Riggs, better known as Rigg, and his wife Kaitlin. At the same time you will see the closeness and faith of Roberta (Bobbie) Bradford’s family.

One of the most interesting characters in As Time Goes By is Sylvia Weber. We learn right away, “Silver Weber was not a nice person. On more than one occasion Angie and Bobbie had been at the receiving end of her vicious tongue.” As the story progresses the reader sees Sylvia’s manipulating and annoyingly spoiled behavior. Wick did a good job developing this character.

Also, the reader learns to love Bobbie’s spunky, “can-do,” manner, her strong faith and her sense of humor.

Romance is always sweet in Lori Wick’s books. As Time Goes By is no exception.

I would recommend As Time Goes By to Wick’s fans. It’s the kind of book you can hand to your teen-age daughter or your mom without apology.
